  • Pirámide de Mayo: (In Plaza de Mayo Sq.)
    The first patriotic monument erected in 1811 to commemorate the events occurred in 1810.
  • Cabildo: Bolivar 65 (5" minutes from Loft&Arte)
    This colonial building, which worked as the city hall, was projected and directed by the Jesuit Andrés Bianqui. It treasures up relics of our past from viceroyalty until May Revolution. Patricios Regiment, the oldest in the country, guards this historic building.
  • Catedral Metropolitana: Rivadavia Ave. and San Martín St. (5 minutes from Loft&Arte)
    Finished in 1791, it has a neoclassical façade, 12 columns with Corinthian capitals and a pediment representing "The encounter of Jacob and his son Joseph in Egyptian lands". In the lateral right nave you can find the "General San Martín Mausoleum", national hero and Liberator of Argentina, Chile and Peru.
  • Casa Rosada: (The Pink House) 50 Balcarce St. (5 minutes from Loft&Arte)
    The Government House since 1873 is a Renaissance building on the lands belonging to the Royal Fort San Juan Baltasar of Austria. It was first painted pink during Domingo F. Sarmiento's presidency. There is a museum on the first floor.
  • Manzana de las Luces: 272 Perú St. (5 minutes from Loft&Arte).
    It is a group of buildings related to the history and culture of the country. Tunnels from the 18th century connected the Fort with the Cabildo (the city hall in that century) and the main churches of the city.
  • Café Tortoni: (Tortoni Café) 825 De Mayo Ave. (3 minutes from Loft&Arte)
    Founded in 1858, it is the oldest café in the city. José Ingenieros, Alfonsina Storni and Federico García Lorca, among others, were some of its regular clients.
  • Teatro Avenida: (Avenida Theater) 1200 De Mayo Ave. (2 minutes from Loft&Arte)
    It is a great theater of Spanish and national poetry. The company Mana Guerrero inaugurated it on October 3rd, 1908.
  • Plaza de los Dos Congresos: (The Square of the Two Congresses) (4 minutes from Loft&Arte)
    It is one of the broadest squares in the city center. It treasures up works of art and stories about Argentine politics and history.
  • Congreso Nacional: (The National Congress)
    Built by the architect V. Meano who was formed in Baux Arts School, particularly focused on eclectic neoclassical style and inspired by the Viennese Secession, it is the seat of the House of Deputies and the Senate. There are guided visits in several languages and at different schedules.
  • Avenida Corrientes:
    The street that never sleeps. This avenue is famous for its leisure activities, entertainment and gastronomy until very late at night. Great part of the administrative and financial sectors of the city works in it. There are also cinemas, restaurants, theaters, bookshops, etc.
  • Obelisco: (The Obelisk)
    Corrientes and 9 de Julio Ave. Located in Plaza de la República Sq, this 67-meter-high monument was built in 1936 to commemorate the 4th centenary of the first foundation of Buenos Aires. It is the venue of demonstrations due to political or festive events.
  • Peatonal Florida: (Florida Pedestrian Street)
    It is the street you cannot forget visiting. Totally pedestrian, it is full of elegant shop windows, kiosks, newsstands, cafés, bookshops, leather clothing, commercial galleries, Galerías Pacífico, Harrods building turned into an exhibition center, banks, bureaux de change and travel agencies.
  • Teatro Colón: (Colón Theater) 618 Cerrito St.
    It is one of the most beautiful theaters of the world, devoted to ballet and opera. The dome was the work of the Argentine plastic artist Raúl Soldi. There is a museum with guided visits. It is the venue of one of the most prestigious ballet schools worldwide. Julio Bocca was one of its students.
  • Barrio de San Telmo: (neighboring district of Loft&Arte)
    It is the oldest neighborhood in Buenos Aires. Called "Alto de San Pedro" in the 18th century, it keeps its colonial appearance. It was the area of the aristocratic houses of the 18th and 19th centuries. At the beginning of the 20th century, it was the place for Italian and Spanish immigrants. Tango was placed here.
  • El Viejo Almacén: (The Old Grocery Store) At the corner of Balcarce St. and Independencia Ave. (San Telmo)
    It is a famous and picturesque Tango place, created in 1968 by the singer Edmundo Rivero. It offers dinners, shows and the best tango of Buenos Aires.
  • Antique Fair:
    In Plaza Dorrego (Dorrego Sq), center of San Telmo neighborhood. Every Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., you can find the craftsmen market, street artists and antique vendors, tango dancers and typical characters from the neighborhood. Bars, cafés and restaurants let you enjoy all the afternoon.
  • Nuestra Señora de Belén: curch 1340 Humberto Primo St. (San Telmo)
    It was built in 1734, and finished in baroque style. Providing great historic interest, it reflects the customs and the most distinguished people of the 18th and 19th centuries.
  • La Boca neighborhood: (neighboring district of Loft&Arte)
    It was born together with the foundation of Buenos Aires. It grew thanks to Italian immigration, which marked its appearance. During the evening, La Boca offers its cheerful and colorful "cantinas" (traditional Italian-styled restaurants).
  • Caminito Street
    A traditional place with bas-reliefs, murals, ceramics, craftsmen market, tango dancers, "cantinas" and restaurants. Keep on walking towards La Vuelta de Rocha, a historical sightseeing, then go to El Antiguo Puente Transbordador (The Old Ferry Bridge), the Casa Amarilla, the ghost tower and La Bombonera.
  • Puerto Madero: (neighboring to Loft&Arte)
    In the past, it was a cereal port with docks, cranes and storages today remodeled and converted into restaurants, cinemas, shops and offices of the most important companies. It is the "Soho" of the city. There are live art, museums and shows.
  • Costanera Sur:
    The old Municipal Resort offers a place full of trees next to the river. It is an ecological circuit where you can find the exquisite fountain of Las Nereidas, a work of the famous sculpture Lola Mora. There, it is located the Ecological Reservation, a green area of unique features within the city of Buenos Aires.
